Stress, pollution, changing environment, fast-paced lifestyle,. Everyday we are exposed to these elements and they all eventually take its toll on the skin. Without the right skin care habit, even our best features can become flaws to hide and conceal. Where to begin, what regimen to follow, what products to use. These are questions that confront us that need to be answered.
Begin by understanding your skin, that means knowing your skin type and skin condition. Does it tend to be greasy or dry and flaky most of the time? It it blemish-free or acne prone? Is it wrinkle-free or you start noticing lines. There are four easy steps to follow and you will never go wrong as long as you have the right products,.
Cleansing is the starting point of a glowing complexion that you have to do morning and night. While all products claimed to get rid of dirt, grime and impurities,, the question is, are these products suitable to your skin. If your skin tends to be oily most of the time then go for water-base products like facial washes or cleansing gel but if your skin tends to be dry go for oil-base such as cold cream or cleansing milk.
Our skin is constantly changing as fresh young cells are formed to replace dead cells on the skin’s surface which makes our next step necessary. Exfoliating done once for 2-3 times a week removes dead skin cells that if left on its own to shed off may pile up causing clogging, dull and dark looking skin. Facial abrasives or scrubs are commonly used but just make sure that your scrub is gentle enough.
A dose of Vitamin C serum at this point applied and massaged into the skin will do wonders. In time it brightens dull skin, removes dark spots and reduces wrinkles.

Restoring the acid mantle of the skin will have an effect of naturally reducing the size of the pores. Toning the skin morning and night does the work. Use of facial toners will refresh the skin, restore the pH balance, tighten the skin pores and make it primed for moisture treatment. Choose a toner that is alcohol-free and with less preservative and colorant.
It is wise to top the skin’s moisture content not by adding more oil but by providing a protective film over the surface of the skin that prevents valuable water from escaping. Who says that oily skin does not need a moisturizer? Whatever your skin type is our final step which is moisturizing is a must however you must be discriminate in choosing your moisturizer. Those with oily skin must opt for light moisturizers like the liquid type or gel while those with dry skin must opt for thicker moisturizer like the creams. Your daytime moisturizer must contain sunscreen preferably with at least SPF 30 and your night time moisturizer must contain nourishing and skin repair ingredients.
Make this your daily routine. This may sound tedious but as you make it a daily habit, it becomes something you cant do without. As the the saying goes, no guts no glory. It is never too late. Overtime you notice and feel the difference.
